Being grateful opens room for success. If you want to be successful then you have to develop the spirit of gratitude. I always thought I only have to be grateful for big things happening in my life , do you find yourself doing that too? This type of thinking helped me to easily neglect the little things. It is good to be grateful for the big things going on in our lives but the truth is the little things matter as well. It could be as simple as been grateful for the gift of life, our families and/or loved ones.
If you are reading this and saying to yourself, how do I develop the spirit of gratitude? It may sound difficult but it is very easy. First you have to decide to be grateful. I remember when I first realized the significance of having the spirit of gratitude. I made a decision to be grateful, I would simply thank God for something as simple as someone opening the door for me, or someone simply saying goodmorning.
Second, start by thinking about what you are grateful for in your life. It may be your job, education, partners, families or even your pets. Whatever it is start and end your day by saying, “ I’m grateful for ……”
Last but not least, repeat step 1 and 2 everyday, and eventually it would become a habit.
Here is one of my favorite quote: “Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer. And let faith be the bridge you build to overcome evil and welcome good.” Maya Angelou
