Are You Afraid of Change?

photoWe’ve all been through changes in life, for instance going through different phases in life such as figuring out who you are or learning to cope in a new environment. Change can be a good or bad thing, depending on you. You can decide to allow it affect you in a positive or negative way by reflecting on your view on the situation.

How do you deal with change? Do you freak out? Do you call everyone on your contact list complaining about your situation? Hey I’m not saying talking to a few close pals about your situation is not good but do you constantly depend on them? Sometimes friends may end up freaking you out more with their negativity.

If you are fortunate to have great friends who really care about you ( lucky you ) but if you aren’t fortunate enough or you know someone who struggles with coping with change, here are some few tips that will help you embrace it positively.

Know what’s happening–> Acknowledge the situation, ignoring it won’t do any good.

Keep calm–> Even if it is something as difficult as cutting ties with people who no longer bring progress in your life, being calm helps you to handle problems easily and  also reduces unnecessary anxiety.

Adapt–> Take in the situation and learn to cope with it. The more you learn to deal with it, the more normal it gets. It eventually becomes something you do everyday, or see everyday and it will no longer faze you anymore.

When NO is a great thing

I cannot count the number of articles I have read about “learning how to say No.” I remember reading an article that says “If you say no, it makes you appear tough, another one says “Saying no begets respect from whoever you are dealing with, blah blah, you know the drill. But no one ever teaches you the opposite. Which is accepting NO for an answer.
