Are you a big dreamer? Do you always find yourself dreaming so big and you get so overwhelmed that you don’t know where or how to start?

Are you one of those people that think that starting small is too small? Or do you think starting small is a bad idea and then you pressure yourself to start big?

Whether you are terrified at the thought of starting small or have the big dreamer syndrome (in no way condemning dreaming big) the overwhelming feeling associated with them will always hinder you from going after your passions and goals.

These three tricks will help you see why you should start small before going big!!

Accept The Unknown: Do you always want to know the entire result before starting a new project? There is a famous saying “you do not have to have all the answers to move forward.” Think about it for a second, isn’t that boring? If you already know everything that will happen then why bother starting the project? Be open to uncertainties and the unknown. Learn to accept uncertainties as a learning curve. When you start to see it as a learning curve, you will no longer be terrified at the thought of it.

Start now Vs Start later: While it is very good to dream big, however I noticed that sometimes those big goals always get postponed? You never get to start doing anything.  We all have BIG plans for our future, if you don’t already have plans, start making some. But we will never achieve anything if our plans keep getting postponed. For Instance, if you want to build a career in any field or industry you care about, you need to start from somewhere. First start by thinking about things you want to see your self doing in your field, write them down and start with the smallest on your list.

Starting small builds your confidence: When you start small, you can easily achieve what you set out to accomplish. But sometimes some people make the mistake of belittling this achievement because they think it’s too small. But the trick is: Don’t think anything is too small. Always celebrate small victories because these “small victories” are amazing confidence boosters that will help you overcome bigger and more challenging goals in your future.

Here’s one of my favorite quotes; Always remember that the future comes one day at a time. -Dean Acheson
